Virgin Atlantic flights to South Africa extended once again Posted on 24 May 2021 Direct flights from the UK to South Africa are constantly facing a revised suspension due to the UK’s entry ban. Virgin Atlantic hasn’t operated its direct flights to Johannesburg and Cape Town in several months since the travel and flight ban was implemented in December 2020. Since then, there hasn’t been a direct flight between the two countries after a new coronavirus variant was discovered in South Africa last year December, reported The South African. The airline has been announcing revised suspension dates since February 2021 and the newly revised dates for a direct flight to Johannesburg is June 2, while direct flights to Cape Town will resume on June 5.
