Mozambique is currently open for international travel. President Nyusi called on the extension of mitigation measures to combat COVID-19 for an additional 21 days from 5 April 2021. The country is currently facing an adjusted curfew and travel within the country is limited, according to the U.S. Embassy in Mozambique.

In the greater Maputo area and all provincial capitals, a curfew is instated from 10pm to 4am every night. Commercial establishments are open from 9am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday; and 9am to 4pm on Sundays. However, restaurants may remain open until 8pm every evening.

Upon arrival, travellers are to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result conducted 72 hours prior to their departure to Mozambique. Health screenings and temperature testings are also taken at the ports of entry.

Until 1 May, the sale of alcoholic beverages, as well as recreational and leisure sports and games are prohibited.

All of the main airlines flying from Portugal, Kenya, Turkey, Ethiopia and South Africa are currently flying into Mozambique.
