Impala escapes crocodile, snatched by leopard Posted on 11 February 2021 An impala miraculously escaped the jaws of a crocodile in a watering hole in the Kruger National Park, only to be caught by a leopard. A video shared by Latest Sightings and filmed by Angela and Craig Weeks shows the impala getting snatched by a crocodile from behind, where both animals plunge into the water. The impala fought valiantly for its life, waiting for the crocodile to release it for a brief second so that it could escape the water. The prehistoric reptile had its jaws locked around one of the impala’s legs, making for an all-round painful experience. While this is going on, the rest of the herd are making alarm sounds to the situation unfolding. A leopard then creeps in on the action, lying in wait. As soon as the impala manages to make a break for freedom, making a fatal decision in its direction. The odds were not in this antelope’s favour. Take a look at the incredible sighting below.
