Severe weather warning issued for parts of Lowveld

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued a Yellow (Level 4) severe weather warning for the eastern parts of Mpumalanga and the southern Lowveld of Limpopo as well as the northern Lowveld for Wednesday, January 6.

Heavy rainfall, localised flooding of formal and informal roads or settlements, low-lying areas and bridges and difficult driving conditions are to be expected. Travellers are urged to be cautious.

The Karoo has also received abundant rainfall over the past few weeks, providing much relief to drought-stricken areas.

A Level 2 Alert was issued on Tuesday for parts of the Eastern Cape and Free State. Social media users shared images of the aftermath to Storm Report.
