South Africa on list of Best Places to Go in 2021 Posted by Anita Froneman on 23 October 2020 The world is travel hungry and seemingly in dire need of a break from 2020 and South Africa has been listed as one of the best places to go next year by Forbes. South Africa has been voted a favourite travel destination by experts and the public alike. According to travel insurance aggregator Squaremouth, 65% of trips planned by travellers for 2021 are to international destinations. Read: Vote for Table Mountain in World Travel Awards Forbes asked four renowned travel specialists about the 20 best places to go in 2021. Kimberly Wilson Wetty of Valerie Wilson Travel recommended South Africa. Why? ‘It’s the best of all worlds,’ says Wetty. ‘Enjoy city life, vineyards and safari all in one trip. Nothing beats a trip to South Africa.’ Her highlights included the bustling hub of Cape Town for its dynamic food and design scene, the historic sites in Johannesburg, water sports on the coastline of the Indian and Atlantic oceans and of course, the renowned safari camps of Kruger National Park. Condé Nast has also released the results of the Readers Choice Awards for the Top 20 countries in the world, and yours truly came in at a stunning number 8. The publication’s readers also voted South Africa as a top holiday destination for 2021.
