Vote for Table Mountain in World Travel Awards Posted on 23 October 2020 Table Mountain has been nominated as the World’s Leading Attraction in the annual World Travel Awards. The Awards are a global initiative to recognise and reward excellence in travel and tourism. As the 2019 winner of the Leading Attraction in Africa, Table Mountain is also in the same category for this year. It’s going up against five other African giants such as Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. Table Mountain is a world-famous tourist attraction. The Mother City’s pride and joy is also in the running for the World’s Leading Attraction. The nominees are: Acropolis, Athens, Greece Burj Khalifa, Dubai, UAE EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Grand Canyon National Park, USA Great Wall of China Ha Long Bay, Vietnam IMG Worlds of Adventure, UAE Intramuros, Philippines Las Vegas Strip, Nevada, USA Machu Picchu, Peru Magic Kingdom Park, Walt Disney World Resort Florida, USA Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania Table Mountain, South Africa Taj Mahal, India Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, UAE Machu Picchu was the winner in this category for the previous three years in a row. Wahida Parker, Managing Director of the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company, has appealed to South Africans to cast their vote: ‘You were the ones that voted so that we can be that famous accolade of being one of the seven wonders of the world.
