CapeNature to host free online series

Posted by Anita Froneman on 8 June 2020

June is Environment Month and to celebrate, CapeNature is hosting a series of online educational presentations on all things nature.

The programme, ‘Learning to #LoveNature,’ will focus on a variety of biodiversity related topics.

‘There will be topics for kids and adults which are suited to anyone who loves nature and wants to learn something new,’ CapeNature says on Facebook.

Some of the exciting topics include Defending our climate from change, Magical Forests and The Fabulous Forms of Fish.

The series kicks off on 11 June and those interested should RSVP by 10 June.

CapeNature announced that their reserves remain closed until further notice. ‘While we are eager to open up access to our 27 nature reserves across the Western Cape, we need to ensure that this is done safely,’ they said on their Facebook page.

‘We are working diligently to get our properties compliant and visitor ready. Our efforts include finding digital solutions to issuing permits, procuring the necessary PPE materials and training our teams on the ground to manage reserve and trail capacities under COVID-19 guidelines.

‘For the time being all of our nature reserves currently remain closed. Members of the public will be notified of any changes as visitor safety is our top priority.’
