Posted on 19 May 2020

To help keep the cabin fever at bay during the lockdown, Lonely Planet has announced a new premium video streaming service called Lonely Planet TV (LPTV) featuring classic programming from its archives.

The streaming service will take viewers around the world and explore a variety of destinations and experiences in over 350 episodes of award-winning travel shows.

Viewers will also be treated to 18 seasons of the classic travel TV series Globe Trekker, which takes those watching on a nostalgic tour around the world to destinations raging from China to the USA.

You’ll also be able to join a celebrity host as they introduce you to a world filled with inspiring cultures, amazing landscapes and mouth watering cuisines.

If international delicacies are what you’re after, LPTV also offers views the chance to watch Planet food, which explores the surprising origins of a variety of dishes. These include Nashville’s classic hot chicken dishes and delves into the mix of influences that make Mexican food unique.

To unlock hours worth of classic travel TV, simply sign up for a Lonely Planet Membership.
