Changi Airport named best in the world – again

Posted on 12 May 2020

Taking the title for world’s best airport for the eighth year in a row is none other than Changi International Airport in Singapore. The world-class airport is famous for being beautiful, functional and hosting amenities not seen in any other airport.

It beat out 500 other airports for the title, with Tokyo Haneda Airport coming in second and Hamad International Airport Doha in third place.

From a butterfly garden and cactus garden to a rooftop swimming pool and 24-hour free cinemas, the airport is anything but a place to grab some coffee and stare out the window while waiting for a flight.

It has even expanded, as of April 2019, with the opening of Jewel Changi Airport. This complex takes the airport experience to the next level with a giant trampoline, mirror maze, hedge maze, indoor forest and the incredible HSBC Rain Vortex.

‘Singapore Changi Airport remains a very popular choice with customers and delights at nearly all points in the airport journey, and it is this attention to detail that proves so popular,’ said Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax. ‘This year also marks the first time that customers have been able to recognise Jewel Changi Airport, a multi-dimensional destination filled with inspiring attractions, unique retail and dining concepts.’
