Drakensberg Boys Choir video inspires hope Posted on 24 April 2020 The Drakensberg Boys Choir School recently released a powerfully inspiring video of them performing the anthem ‘Solibona’, which means ‘We will see the sun rise again’. The short clip, which was shot on location months prior, features the choir donning their wellies and wading in a stream on the school’s property, wearing black shirts with a bright green image of Africa on the front. The song by South African composer Lebo M. features a solo performance by a young Grade 8 learner, Vuyo Mcanyana. The school, like many other institutions, has had to cancel the choir’s concerts and festival performances both locally and abroad due to travel restrictions and lockdowns. Despite the circumstances, they are remaining positive and reminding us that we will ‘heal’ and ‘find peace again’. ‘Here is our message of hope in these difficult times,’ the school posted to its Facebook page recently. ‘We will see the sun rise again.’ Image: Facebook/Drakensberg Boys Choir Related Posts Cape Town’s sustainability: Leading the way in environmental initiatives 1 June 2023 As National Environmental Month commences in South Africa, Cape Town stands proudly at the forefront... read more Kapama to host Safari Guide of the Year Awards 2023 1 June 2023 Kapama Private Game Reserve near Hoedspruit will host this year’s Safari Guide of the Year... read more Blood Lions relaunches for public viewing on YouTube 1 June 2023 Award-winning documentary feature film Blood Lions has been relaunched on YouTube for public viewing, creating... read more PREV ARTICLE NEXT ARTICLE
