More reasons your body could use an oceanfront beach vacation Posted by Adrian Brown on 30 January 2020 Here are five more reasons your body could use an oceanfront beach vacation this summer: Being near the ocean increases your body’s levels of serotonin, a hormone that makes you feel good and reduces feelings of anxiety and depression. Taking off your shoes and walking barefoot through the sand is good for your muscles and it relaxes and energizes your nerves at the same time. Plus, swimming is great exercise with little physical risk due to the water’s limited resistance. Sand is a natural exfoliant that brushes dead cells off your skin, while salt cleanses your pores. Salty ocean air is good for your respiratory system, increasing absorption of oxygen and helping you sleep better. When you’re out in the sun your body takes in Vitamin D and releases endorphins that relieve stress and make you feel happier and more relaxed.
