Free State hailstorm closes roads Posted by Anita Froneman on 2 March 2020 Tags:Free State A heavy hail storm between Winburg and Aldam in the Free State on Friday 28 February caused roads to be inaccessible and teams of workers had to clear the way for traffic. Jennifer le Roux thanked EMS Free State on its Facebook Group page, for clearing the hail from the roads and making it safe for motorists to use. She shared these pictures showing ‘Mrs Z.Engelbrecht’ and her team clearing the scene, adding that she is a ‘true hero’ and ‘always available 24/7 to save lives and go beyond the call of duty.’ Credit: Jennifer le Roux Credit: Jennifer le Roux The Free State has received heavy rains over the last weeks, with residents and especially farmers overjoyed, as the area is known to experience severe droughts during summer.
