Get paid to live and work on a luxury barge in France Posted on 21 February 2020 Tags:boat, canal, French, sail A French company, Silver Swan Recruitment, is looking for a couple to live on and manage its luxury barge for the summer. Accommodation and meals will be provided and paid for, and each of the pair will receive $1,416 (about R21,400) a month. The position will run from mid May until August this year. This idyllic summer experience offers two people an amazing opportunity to travel around France. According to Insider, the barge is used for events and dinner parties for ‘elite’ guests. According to Insider, the recruitment agency stipulates that: ‘One day they may be cruising up the River Seine with the Eiffel Tower as their backdrop, while another day may be spent gliding along the Nivernais Canal watching the rolling countryside go by.’ View this post on Instagram A post shared by Canal du Nivernais (@canaldunivernais) on Jun 7, 2016 at 3:05am PDT The couple will undergo training in the intricacies of boat maintenance and will learn how the equipment works. Responsibilities will include navigating the boat through French waterways, using knots and navigational equipment, managing events and hosting dinner parties for guests. One person will be the boat’s deckhand while the other will work as the host/hostess. The boat will travel around the country, giving these two lucky people the chance to see France in a unique way.
