Kruger flooding and road closure after heavy rains Posted on 21 January 2020 Tags:Kruger National Park Heavy rains in Kruger last week led to the flooding of the Sable Dam hide on Sunday, the evacuation of visitors and road closures within the park. According to a post on SANParks Facebook community page, ‘Guests managed to get out of the hide safe, but their vehicles are flooded. Phalaborwa Rangers on their way to assist. Guests are safe, field rangers busy assisting them to try and get vehicles out.’ pic.twitter.com/fXxJTgN1wf — Kruger National Park (@SANParksKNP) January 19, 2020 Two vehicles had to be towed out of the water, according to SANParks. As a result of flooding in the park, the following roads have been closed: All roads on Kingfisherspruit section (Orpen area) and all gravel roads in the Phalaborwa section.The S37, S28 and S130, S39 , S90 as well as all gravel roads in the Lower Sabie Section. In addition to the above SANparks closed the following roads yesterday: the S131, S47, S48, S52 , S58 and S79.
