Warner Bros Studios has announced that it will be opening the first Harry Potter store in New York City. This first-of-its-kind Wizarding World experiential store, located at 935 Broadway in the borough of Manhattan, will be the flagship store for fans of JK Rowling’s bestselling book series, including the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Image: Warner Bros ‘This will be the largest dedicated Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts store in the world and will become a must-visit fan destination where Wizarding World enthusiasts can engage with interactive experiences and numerous photo opportunities as they step into the magic,’ said Sarah Roots, Senior Vice President for Worldwide Tours and Retail at Warner Bros. Occupying three floors and 6,000 square metres, Harry Potter New York store will house the largest collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts products in the world under one roof. Visitors will be able to choose from personalised robes, sample Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans and access a new range of house wands with designs exclusive to the New York store, which will be accessible by wheelchair too. So far, huge Wizarding World fanatics will know that they can experience the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London where they can discover the behind-the-scenes magic of the making of the Harry Potter films. Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, which spans two Harry Potter theme park areas, includes attractions like the Hagrid-themed rollercoaster. While no official date has been set, the flagship Harry Potter in New York is set to open this year in the northern hemisphere’s summer months, and makes for an excellent reason for South Africans to ditch the winter weather and experience some magic.
