SAA to restore ops as strike ends Posted on 22 November 2019 South African Airways (SAA) has signed an agreement with union members that has ended the strike and the airline will return to full operations tomorrow, 23 November. An official settlement agreement was reached with The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) and the South African Airways Cabin Crew Association (Sacca). The union ‘will, with immediate effect, call-off the industrial action, and instruct their members currently on strike to return to work latest by 23 November 2019’, according to a statement issued by the airline. SAA has assured passengers that it will restore the full flight schedule in stages over the weekend and that by Sunday, 24 November all domestic, regional and international flights will be fully operational. On Saturday 23 November there will be a ‘near-normal service’ with selected cancellations on the domestic network and a few regional flights.
