A touch of rugby between man and beluga Posted on 8 November 2019 A beluga whale was recently filmed playing ‘catch’ with an official Rugby World Cup ball. A group of South African rugby fans were throwing the ball from their boat out into the water, with the friendly beluga retrieving it. In light of the incredible Rugby World Cup win, South Africans are lapping up this heart warming video that has gone viral. The video was posted to Facebook on Wednesday 6 November by Alon Kowen and has been viewed 1,442,603 times. Check out the video below. In May this year, a tame beluga whale was found swimming with a harness and a GoPro camera holder strapped to it off the Arctic island of Ingoya. The harness had a label tracing it back to St Petersburg, and marine biologist Professor Audun Rikardsen believes the whale could be a Russian spy.
