Win: ‘The Photographer’s Guide to the Greater Kruger National Park’ (closed) Posted on 1 October 2019 Tags:nature photography, photo tips, photographic tips, photography From the first time they visited Kruger, back in 1995, Mario and Jenny Fazekas have kept a record of their sightings. They bought a souvenir tea-towel map (pictured below), attached it to a board and pinned the locations – red for lion, yellow for leopard, white for cheetah and green for wild dog. Originally they also kept track of elephant and buffalo, but these were so numerous they stopped. Rather, they added cheetah and wild dog to the Big Five to make their own ‘Super Seven’. The souvenir tea-towel map first used to pin the authors’ best wildlife-sighting spots in the Kruger National Park. This has helped them track the most productive areas for photographing animals. Based on 517 days spent in the park over seven years, their new e-book, The Photographer’s Guide to the Greater Kruger National Park, is extremely detailed (the contents list alone runs to 18 pages!) – covering suggested drives, secret/hidden viewpoints, camps and lodges, waterholes, hides and every other point of interest, as well as 35 essential photography lessons. It also gives info on the reserves and areas just west and south of the park, and gives tips for day visitors. This is an indispensable guide to getting the best out of Kruger, camera in hand or not. The pair have also produced similar e-books on Kgalagadi, Etosha and Pilanesberg. Order it via kruger-2-kalahari.com. The prize We have three copies of the e-book, worth R400, to give away.
