Iconic landmarks like Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles attract thousands of local and international visitors each year. From wondering around one of the many museums, to feasting at the creative kitchens around the city, to taking a trip to the exquisite Winelands or sunbathing on the beach, you will never run out of things to do in Cape Town. A recent survey conducted by Travel + Leisure, the ‘World’s Best Awards’, named the City of Cape Town the best city in Africa and the Middle East for the 18th consecutive time. The cities are rated by Travel + Leisure readers, who are asked to weigh in on their travel experiences from around the world, to create the rankings. Readers rate the cities based on the sights, landmarks, culture, cuisine, friendliness, shopping, and overall value. Based on the votes, Cape Town was voted number one in Africa and the Middle East, with Jerusalem and Marrakesh placing second and third respectively. According to Travel + Leisure one reader said, ‘[Cape Town] is such a beautiful city. There are so many things to do and places to see and experience.
