Severe turbulence throws flight attendant into ceiling Posted on 24 June 2019 Tags:airline, flight attendant, turbulence A flight en route to Switzerland from Kosovo last Sunday, 16 June hit a particularly rough patch of turbulence. A passenger on board captured the hysteria and damage caused by the violent movement of the plane in a now-viral video, which includes scenes of a female flight attendant on the receiving end of some of the worst of the turbulence. Frightening passenger video captured severe turbulence that sent a flight attendant and her drink cart into the ceiling during a flight from Kosovo to Switzerland. According to an airline spokesperson, 10 passengers suffered minor injuries. https://t.co/IxYhOlFUtC pic.twitter.com/lfIm9db1Vx — ABC News (@ABC) June 17, 2019 The footage, which was taken from a window seat on the left side of the plane, shows the adjacent passengers and an approaching flight attendant making her way down the aisle behind them. A particularly turbulent gust rocks the cabin at this moment, sending the flight attendant up to hit the cabin ceiling along with the drinks trolley, which rebounds off it and is thrown across the seats onto the passengers. Some are covered in water and other beverages and are visibly shaken. One woman even appears to be praying while she tries to compose herself. A statement from ALK Airlines, a Bulgarian operator which was servicing this Pristina-Basel route, claims the plane crew was expecting bad turbulence and preempting the disturbance, and was in the process of collecting beverages when the turbulence struck. A few passengers sustained minor injuries, according to reports, likely as a result of projectiles and hot water falling onto them. The sounds from the video footage capture a moment of distress and chaos, and the hysteria in the cries of children and wailing and moans of other passengers is quite upsetting.
