SAA announces new Air Alaska partnership Posted on 31 May 2019 Tags:flights, SAA South African Airways (SAA) has announced a new partnership with Alaska Airlines, the fifth largest airline in the United States, which will mean new flight options and added convenience for travellers flying with both SAA and Air Alaska. The agreement allows for more travel options between Africa and the west coast of the US, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Portland, and travellers will be able to book a single e-ticket though SAA (or Alaska Airlines) that will allow for interline baggage transfer upon check-in in the US or Africa. ‘With immediate effect, customers will be able to purchase a single itinerary for travel on flights of both carriers in one simple transaction and enjoy connections via New York-John F. Kennedy International Airport and Washington- Dulles International Airport between Alaska Airlines’ expansive North American network and over 75 destinations in Africa,’ SAA announced in a press statement. Todd Neuman, executive vice president of North America for South African Airways, said, ‘This interline partnership will enable SAA and Alaska Airlines to expand their route networks to provide some of the quickest and most convenient connections between many west coast US cities and some truly amazing destinations throughout Africa.
