Charity skydive to save rhinos Posted on 20 May 2019 Tags:Base jump, rhino conservation A member of the Red Bull Air Force, Jeff Provenzano, recently skydived from a hot air balloon into a herd of rhinos in Bela-Bela, South Africa. The jump took place on Sunday morning in Bela Bela, Limpopo. Over 100 rhinos were on the scene at the time of his landing. The field that he landed on has the 3rd highest concentration of rhino in Africa. Provenzano performed the jump in an attempt to gain the attention of an international audience for an NGO he has partnered with that works to protect rhinos. The NGO, EDGE, uses military combat training and equipment to help secure the world’s third highest concentration of rhino in Limpopo. Along with being a pro skydiver and BASE jumper, Provenzano is also known for his stunt work in Iron Man 3, Godzilla (2014) and Navy Seals on CBS. Originally from New York, Provenzano graduated from the School of Visual Arts in NYC in 1998. During that time he began skydiving. He has since completed over 19,000 jumps and holds National and World Titles, as well as multiple World Records.
