The hotel will generate more energy than it uses, giving it an positive energy status. Set at the foot of the Svartisen glacier, Svart Hotel will extend from the shoreline and into the Holandsfjorden fjord. View this post on Instagram The name Svart, meaning black in Norwegian, is a direct tribute to the dark blue ice of the Svartisen glacier. The word “svart” is Norwegian for “black”, a reference to the dark ice of the glacier and the inspiration for the hotel’s name. The building will be a complete circle, in order for guests to have panoramic views of the fjord.
