Two SA hotels among most luxurious in Africa Posted on 8 April 2019 Tags:Luxury hotels, South Africa The official Tourism Advisory Board for Southern and Eastern Africa (Tourism Update) selected the ’10 Most Luxurious’ hotels on the continent. Two South African hotels, Kapama Lodge and The One Above, made it to the list. Kapama Private Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger Located in-between the Kruger National Park and Blyde River Valley, guests experience the epitome of luxury safari at this lodge. There are four separate luxury lodges that visitors can choose from to book a stay at. Karula, the flagship lodge, takes luxury to the next level. With beautiful interiors and picturesque views of the surrounds, Karula is a first-class bush escape. Buffalo Camp, another of the lodges, is located among the treetops where guests stay in tented camps, creating an intimate experience with nature. This camp is the perfect lodge for families with little ones, equipped with a team of hospitable staff. River Lodge is the largest of all four and offers a more social experience for travellers. Equipped with a world-class spa, this part of the lodge offers a resort-type stay. Guests are also able to book flights out of O R Tambo International Airport and Cape Town International Airport with the fly-in packages. Decked out with art from prominent South African artists, two rooftop swimming pools and a library, guests are treated like royalty here. The penthouse measures 1,275 metres squared over two storeys. It has four en-suite bedrooms, a private gym, sauna, media centre, dining room, internal lift and more. What’s more, it has access to the hotel’s outdoor bar and wine and champagne cellar. Guests also have access to private chauffeurs, a private chef and butlers on standby.
