India’s dissolvable bio-plastic bag Posted on 22 March 2019 Tags:bio plastic, india, plastic alternative, sustainable Biogreen, India’s first biotechnology company, is tackling plastic pollution by producing 100% compostable and biodegradable products. Founded by Mohammed Sadiq and a group of environmental entrepreneurs, the company launched in India in March 2018. The idea came about as a result of the plastic pollution overriding Sadiq’s home city, Bengaluru, and the need for a solution. All of the products Biogreen creates are made from natural starch, vegetable waste and other organic matter. The products are 100% plastic-free. The plastic pollution problem is prolific throughout India, and this company is pioneering the plastic alternative solution. The products are also non-toxic and so are not harmful to wildlife and plants. Biogreen’s range of products includes dissolvable bio bags, grocery bag rolls, garbage bags, film and laminate rolls, tableware, water bottles, standup pouches, cups, straws, and more. These items are geared toward lessening consumers’ carbon footprints by reducing the dependency on petroleum-based plastic.
