Mango ranked number 19 on the OTP list, with 82.8 per cent of its flights arriving on time. The low-cost airline also made it to number four in the ranking of on-time performance for Low Cost Carriers (LCC). Mango ranked the most punctual airline on the African continent. A South American carrier, Copa Airlines, ranked first in the world in the general OTP rankings, with an on-time performance of 89.79 per cent. The rankings report comes as air travel increases across the world. About 4.3 billion passengers travelled by air last year, according to a report by the United Nations’ International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which means the number of jet-setters is up by six per cent compared to 2017.
