Emirates celebrates festival of lights Posted by Adrian Brown on 5 November 2018 Emirates airline will be providing its travellers with a unique experience in commemoration of the festival of lights, the auspicious Hindu religious festival, which will give them the opportunity to taste the flavours associated with this celebration. Those travelling between Dubai and India with Emirates airline will be able to enjoy Indian sweets and flavoursome meals associated with Diwali between 4 -10 November. The award-winning airline celebration will extend to select Emirates lounges around the world. All classes will experience a taste of the festival, economy class flyers will be treated to a gram flour based ‘Motichoor Laddu’ served with all meals. First class and business class travellers will be able to savour Anjeer Chakkar and Motichoor Laddu along with a dedicated sweet menu. Emirates Airline/ Diwali South Africans can experience the festivities at the premium lounges in Cape Town and Johannesburg on 7 November. Other premium select lounges that will host the menu include Dubai, Delhi and Kuala Lumpur. Traditional sweets such as burfee, laddoos, jalebi’s and spicy main meals such as biryani, chapatti and snacks such as samoosa and dal kachori will be available.
