Chocolate cottage makes for a ‘shweet’ stay Posted on 12 October 2018 Tags:chocolate Imagine sleeping in a cottage made entirely of chocolate, inhaling the pleasant aroma of cocoa as you sleep. A few ardent fans of this much loved sweet got to do just that recently, when they made reservations through Booking.com. Photo supplied by Booking.com. Cocoa fans everywhere had a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world’s most-beloved treat by staying in a custom-built chocolate cottage, which was made available exclusively on Booking.com. Located in the L’Orangerie Ephémère glass house in the gardens of the Cité de la Céramique in Sèvres, France (just outside Paris), The Chocolate Cottage has been luring guests since 19 September. In addition to The Chocolate Cottage, Booking.com offered lucky guests — in partnership with the artisan chocolatier — a unique workshop dedicated to crafting personalized mini chocolate chalets. Designed and manufactured by Jean-Luc Decluzeau, a renowned artisan chocolatier who specializes in chocolate sculptures, this unique, 18-square-meter chocolate cottage was crafted out of approximately 1.5 tons of chocolate. Accommodating up to four guests, those lucky enough to secure the cottage enjoyed a decadent, delicious night, surrounded by chocolate treats in every corner. Custom chocolate details inside the cottage included everything from the walls and roof to the fireplace, dresser, clock, cups, books and even a chocolate chandelier. The chocolate extravaganza extended outside the cottage to a white chocolate duck pond and an incredible flowerbed made entirely (you guessed it) all out of chocolate. Many of the delectable items in the cottage were actually edible. Those who got to stay in this chocolate dream-come-true cottage were quick to make bookings as there were only a few select nights were available for booking (two in Spetember and two in October). This unique experience went for just 50 euros (about R840) per night on Booking.com. On embarking on the project, Master Chocolatier, sculptor and creator, Jean-Luc Decluzeau said, “I never thought I’d have the opportunity to build a life-size Chocolate Cottage for travellers to sleep in!” Related Posts Cape Town’s sustainability: Leading the way in environmental initiatives 1 June 2023 As National Environmental Month commences in South Africa, Cape Town stands proudly at the forefront... read more Kapama to host Safari Guide of the Year Awards 2023 1 June 2023 Kapama Private Game Reserve near Hoedspruit will host this year’s Safari Guide of the Year... read more Blood Lions relaunches for public viewing on YouTube 1 June 2023 Award-winning documentary feature film Blood Lions has been relaunched on YouTube for public viewing, creating... read more PREV ARTICLE NEXT ARTICLE
