Photoblog: road tripping through Oudtshoorn Posted on 13 January 2016 Tags:January 2016, Karoo, klein karoo Known as the ‘ostrich capital of the world’, Oudtshoorn has, well, plenty of ostrich: but it also has absolutely stunning landscapes, nature, and an interesting past and present. Photo by Vuyi Qubeka Its just a bank, but this building on Church Street has stunning architecture and is well worth a look-see. Photo by Vuyi Qubeka A brightly coloured funeral home in Bongolethu. You must make an effort to see them – though it’s not cheap at R80. Photo by Vuyi Qubeka Nature, man. Photo by Vuyi Qubeka I loved this vintage cool decor and the hotel is very homey. Photo by Vuyi Qubeka The price is just right and there a many well-kept gems to discover. Photo by Vuyi Qubeka Just look at these birds. Did you know that the flightless ostrich has three stomachs? Photo by Vuyi Qubeka Grateful for that satisfying meet with nature. Rear view glances. Read the full article in the January 2016 issue of Getaway magazine.
