Leopard jumps up against car window

In very uncharacteristic behaviour, a leopard was captured on video leaping up against a car window at a child.

If this frail (and frankly demented-looking) leopard seems familiar, it’s because it’s the same leopard who later attacked a tourist guide in an open safari vehicle, and had to be euthanised after the event. According to a statement by SANParks, a post-mortem on the leopard revealed it to be in very poor condition, with worn-down teeth, an empty stomach, tuberculosis and parasites. The official investigation cleared the guide of all responsibility for the incident.

 

 

Although seeing an animal on its last legs is always sad, the video is a helpful reminder of that other fact of life around wild animals – Keep. Your. Windows. Closed.
