Turn your camera lens into a scope Posted on 12 September 2013 Straight from our photo editor Dylan Kotze. If you plan on travelling light, the Lens2scope is a great addition to your SLR camera lens collection. The eye- piece attaches directly to a lens, turning it into a powerful spotting scope (the magnification is the lens focal length divided by 10). The view is impressively bright and crisp with a large image circle. It works well not only as a spotting scope, but also for macro viewing. It rivals binoculars for both magnification and light gathering, making the set-up relatively compact and cost-effective. Remember to attach the lens back onto your camera body when the action gets close enough to make a decent photograph. There are models available for all major lens brands and mounts. Lens2scope 10mm 1:4 Angled Eyepiece costs from R1495 at most major photographic stores.
