Apple-pear crumble smoothie Posted on 10 October 2013 When summer arrives, it’s time to look at your priorities. Take stock of what’s important. Ask the hard questions. One of the most important questions, I think, is “did I eat enough apple crumble this winter?” For me, the answer is a definite no. But when there are glorious warm breezes happening outside, the last thing you want to be doing is exerting energy over buttery flour, or sweatily fiddling with an oven. This smoothie is the solution to all these problems: spicy, sweet, warming, and good for you. It’s like leftover apple crumble in a jar. (Also check out this strawberry-mint smoothie recipe.) Ingredients 2 peeled apples 1 (large) pear 3 Tbs Greek yoghurt (technically, you could use low-fat if desired) 3 Tbs quick oats 1 cm-square fresh ginger, peeled and grated 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1/2 tsp all-spice Honey to taste Method Blend it all together! If your processor can take it, some ice would be a great addition to keep things frosty.
