Become a blogger and you could go travelling Posted on 28 February 2013 Tags:South Africa Can blogs change the world? Hostelling International sure thinks so. That’s why they’re launching one of the best blogging competitions yet – The Big Blog Exchange. Whether your blog is 10 years old or whether you just decided to start one, this is your chance to swap blogs (and locations) with someone else, somewhere else in the world. The Big Blog Exchange will see 16 bloggers exchange lives with each other, exploring and writing about others’ hometowns and local experiences. So if you like the kind of travel where you’re a local instead of a tourist, then this is the perfect competition for you. You’ll literally swap your life, your blog and your circumstances with someone else’s, somewhere else on the globe. The 16 chosen bloggers will all be doing the exchange at the same time and it’ll take place between 7 and 17 June 2013. The idea is to share local knowledge in order to create a global understanding of each other’s lives. Whether your blog is about travel or politics, animals or baking, you could be one of the chosen 16 to exchange your life with someone else’s for 10 days and keep the world up to date as you do. Your blog doesn’t have to have millions of readers and bucket loads full of followers. All you really need is a blog about something that interests you and you can enter the competition. Just imagine how great it will be if one of our own from South Africa gets to go on this incredible trip of a lifetime. The competition opens on 1 March 2013 and you’ll then be able to check out the entry requirements. In the meantime, work on that blog or create a brand new one today.
