Getaway launches digital magazine app for iPad Posted on 6 November 2012 ‘Digital is the future,’ remember that old saying? It wasn’t that long ago when I first heard it. But now (to me at least) it feels older than old boot being chewed by an even older dog. When you’re manning the digital space from behind the keyboards at Getaway Magazine everyday, ‘Digital is now’ rings far truer. It’s also one of the reasons why it’s cool to work here. Getaway is expanding its role in the digital space faster than most. The most recent development is the partnership of our publisher, RamsayMedia, with leading SA mobile solutions provider Snapplify. Using Snapplify, Getaway Magazine (and other RamsayMedia titles) is now available for your Apple iPad. I recently checked it out and found it quite, well, awesome. (Of course, I may be biased, so rather check it out for yourself). Here are a few screenshots of what it looks like: Stuff you don’t really need to know The partnership is a first joint venture for Snapplify and brings together the respective strengths of great content and great technology. It will enable RamsayMedia to deliver rich-media content to its subscribers, explained RamsayMedia’s audience development manager, Ian Dinan. Snapplify’s CEO, Wesley Lynch, said he was ” extremely excited” to be working alongside RamsayMedia. “They’re an innovative company with great ideas and expertise. With our technology and their content combined, we foresee great potential and a long and fruitful partnership.” Read the full article on bizcommunity. Stuff you do really need to know The app is free to download from the iStore. You’ll find it here: Getaway Magazine on iTunes It only costs R15.99 an issue, which is basically the same amount as my end-of-month lunch money. Feels like a win to me.
